The EHSD applies and reflects The Energy Holding's main corporate philosophy which has been committed to continuous growth and success, fully respecting the following main criteria:

  • To closely follow and take all the advantage of science and technology to assure our best and the most effective output for the benefit of the valuable EHSD customers and suppliers
The EHSD is also totally aware of its responsibilities and obligations vis-à-vis its employees, suppliers, sub-contractors, The EHSD customers, partners, consumers and all the related communities together with the environment(s) where business operations are handled for The EHSD; so the company respects them without failure as a good employer, a good business partner and a good corporate citizen targeting a fair environment where each individual is respected and valued, understood and accepted with his or her similarities and his or her differences.

To this respect The EHSD is committing the following guidelines for The EHSD's own corporate operation (The EHSD Operating Principles: EOP) and for The EHSD's suppliers/vendor's usage (The EHSD Partner Qualification Principles: PQP).

The EHSD Operating Principles (EOP)

The EHSD is a supplier of the highest quality products with superior customer value. To maintain its tradition and reputation as a superior employer and responsible corporate citizen, The EHSD has established the following principles:

While The EHSD recognizes that legal and cultural differences exist and standards may vary by country, there are certain fundamental principles that should apply universally. As The EHSD is an international company having global operations and businesses, these principles provide the basis for ongoing evaluation of employment practices and environmental compliance in every country in which The EHSD operates and trades.

Legal and Ethical Practices

The EHSD expects operating facilities and employees to comply with all applicable laws, practices and regulations of the countries in which they are doing business. The company will not condone any violation of any such regulation or laws. The EHSD believes in maintaining high ethical standards in conducting business activities and will not approve of or be involved in practices of questionable conduct.

Employment Practices

Use of child labor is not permissible. Employees must be over the applicable minimum legal age requirements. The EHSD Supply Chain Partners (SCP) facilities must observe all child labor laws, specifically wages, working conditions, hours of work and education.

The EHSD will not condone or permit the use of forced, involuntary or uncompensated labor under any circumstances. The use of corporal punishment, other mental or physical disciplinary actions or sexual harassment will not be allowed. The EHSD will not knowingly use or purchase materials or products manufactured by involuntary or forced labor of any type.

The EHSD will provide reasonable wages and benefits and provide compensation for overtime that match or exceed the prevailing local industry practices and that are at or above legal mandates. Paying employees at competitive levels supports the company's goal to motivate and keep the best employees within its business activity. The EHSD strongly encourages employee participation through the sharing of ideas, which fosters an open relationship. There is also an ongoing emphasis on employee training, education and development.

While The EHSD recognizes and respects cultural differences, the company believes that employees should be hired on the basis of their ability to do the job, not on the basis of their personal characteristics or beliefs. The EHSD strictly prohibits discrimination with regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation or disability.

The EHSD believes in positive employee relations that are firmly established in mutual respect, fairness, and openness in the expression of ideas and opinions. The EHSD recognizes and rewards excellent performance and encourages its employees to participate in the decision making process because this permits the company to successfully compete in a global economy.

Health and Environmental

The EHSD is committed to protect and preserve the environment, as well as to fully comply with all local government laws and international standards. All operations must adhere to applicable laws regarding the protection and preservation of the environment.

The EHSD believes in providing a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with local laws, including adequate facilities and protections from exposure to hazardous conditions or materials. Employees will be trained in safety rules, practices.

Community Relations and Contributions

The EHSD is committed to being a good corporate citizen in every location, region, city and country where it operates. All facilities are encouraged to contribute to improve their communities by participating and sponsoring activities, such as promoting educational programs and involvement in service organizations.

Communications

The EHSD believes in maintaining appropriate confidential records, but strongly encourages open communication with its employees and business partners.

Inspection

The EHSD will make it clear to all employees that the company expects them to comply with all laws and with its broader Operating Principles. To further assure proper implementation of and compliance with its established standards, The EHSD, or a third party designated by The EHSD, will undertake affirmative measures, such as onsite inspection of the facilities, to implement and monitor these standards.

Partner Qualification Principles (PQP)

The EHSD will only do business with Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP) that share the company's high legal, ethical and moral standards.

As such, all the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) are expected to comply with The EHSD's corporate values which are also reflected in The EHSD Operating Principles (EOP), and to assure compliance in all their contracting, subcontracting or other relationships.

Legal and Ethical Standards

The EHSD will require that all the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) fully comply with all applicable legal and ethical standards and requirements of the local or government authorities of the countries in which they are doing business.

Employment Practices: Wages and Benefits

The EHSD will only do business with the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) who provide reasonable wages and benefits that equal or exceed the prevailing local industry standard.

Child Labor

The EHSD will definitely not do any business with the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) that use child labor. The EHSD will not use the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) who employ people in violation of local mandatory school age or under the legal employment age in each country.

Discrimination

While The EHSD recognizes and respects cultural differences, the company believes that all the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP))' employees should be employed on the basis of their ability to do the job, rather than on the basis of personal characteristics or beliefs.

Working Hours

The EHSD will only do business with the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) who comply with the prevailing local work hours and do not exceed them, except for appropriately compensated overtime.

Disciplinary Practices

The EHSD will not do business with the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) who use corporal punishment or other forms of mental or physical coercion.

Health and Safety

The EHSD will only be in relation with the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) who provide employees with safe, healthy, adequate work environments and protections from exposure to hazardous conditions or materials.

Environmental Requirements

The EHSD will use only those business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP)) who share the company's commitment to the community and to the environment. They must conform to all legal requirements regarding environmental codes and guidelines. Further, The EHSD will seek business partners who demonstrate a commitment to progressive environmental practices and to preserving the earth's resources.

Right of Inspection

The EHSD will assure proper implementation of and compliance with the standards set forth in above subjects by implementing affirmative measures such as on site inspection of the business partners (Supply Chain Partners (SCP) and Service Provider Partners (SPP))' facilities.
